Recommissioning of Motor Isaac Yat – ministry in Ethiopia

Officenews

On Sunday, 14th of October, the congregation of Clayton Presbyterian Church had the privilege of recommissioning Motor [Isaac] Yat for his ministry in Ethiopia, serving the South Sudanese refugee community.

It was a very blessed service with many people sharing in the time of prayer for Motor [Isaac] and the congregation being encouraged by the witness of support from the wider church.

Many of us heard first hand from Motor [Isaac] at the recent Australian Presbyterian World Mission Lunch during Assembly week that over the last few months APWM has been gathering money to buy 33,000 Bibles in the Nuer language for the South Sudanese Presbyterians who live in the refugee camps in Ethiopia. Each Bible costs $10.

These refugee camps house 385,000 people. About 100,000 of them belong to our sister church, the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan.

We would like to encourage our congregations to show the video and hold a collection to help provide for this great need. You can download a flyer here to copy and distribute among your congregation.

To watch or download a video on this project please go to APWM’s Vimeo page: https://vimeo.com/270313007

Our target is $330,000. Please consider assisting our brothers and sisters in these refugee camps.
