Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee (HCCC)’s 2018 Chaplains Service

Officenews

The Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee’s annual Chaplains’ Service was held on Sunday, 1 July 2018, at St Stephens, Flemington Presbyterian. The service included the commissioning of the PCV’s new Pastoral Support Worker – Ministry Wives, Mrs Robyn Johnson.

This annual service is also an opportunity for Chaplains associated with the HCCC to be re-commissioned for the year ahead. Rev Phil Court, as convener of the HCCC, led the service and the Clerk of Assembly, Rev John Wilson also gave a word of encouragement at the afternoon tea following the service.

We are heartened by the way in which the Lord is raising up men and women from our own churches to serve as Christian chaplains in hospitals, retirement homes, the police force, prisons and the CFA. Further, it’s a great delight to us that the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, through the faithful work of our HCCC coordinator, Mrs Kathy James, plays a key role and lead in the provision of chaplaincy in our state.
