Building a Healthy Church Culture Conference

Officenews

Around 60 PCV members were blessed to come together earlier this month for the Ministry Development Committee (MDC) ‘Building a Healthy Church culture’ conference, held at the Robert White Hall.

Rev. Mark Powell (Cornerstone PC, Tas.) was an engaging speaker, addressing the themes of ‘Gospel witness in hard times’ and ‘Gospel leadership in hard times’.

A Q & A panel of experienced ministers (Rev David Schulz, Rev Gerald Vanderwert, Rev Mark Powell and PCV Ministry Development Officer, Rev. Chris Siriweera) shared their learnings and approaches to a broad range of topics including shepherding their flock, maintaining a personal quiet time, handling conflict resolution, mentor relationships, respecting boundaries and mental health challenges..

An interactive workshop, presented by MDC Convener Rev. Stuart Withers, provided insight into leading gospel change at Church with a three-step approach: 1) Understand the NOW; 2) Grasp a vision of WHERE our biblical mission takes us; and 3) Intentionally leading HOW we get there.

Recordings of Mark Powell’s two talks are available from the MDC Office. Please email mdc@pcv.org.au if you would like the links sent to you.
